FaithHealth Catawba
A Shared Mission of Healing
What is FaithHealth?
FaithHealth is a dynamic partnership between the faith community, health
system and other community partners focused on improving health. The partnerships
combine the caring strength of congregations, the expertise of healthcare
providers and a network of community resources. All partners are linked
in a shared mission of healing.
FaithHealth volunteers offer ministry and advocacy to anyone in the community
who is in need. They provide support before, during and/or after hospitalization
and make home visits. They also provide emotional and spiritual support
and help with other needs as appropriate.
What is FaithHealth in the community?
- Someone discovering that a patient keeps returning to the hospital because
he/she cannot read
- Congregations working together to provide community members with transportation
to the doctor or the grocery store
- Someone who advocates on behalf of a homeless person with a chronic condition
to find housing

Interested in becoming a FaithHealth volunteer?
Volunteers can be any person who has a passion for helping neighbors in
need. They are dedicated to providing service to others by way of listening,
aiding and assisting with what most of us take for granted - access to
optimal health care. Volunteering is for those who may have at least one
hour of spare time once a week or once a month.
