Catawba Valley Medical Center's SANE Nurses Receive Rape Crisis Center TEAM Award

Catawba Valley Medical Center’s Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) were recently presented the Rape Crisis Center TEAM award for their service to the Rape Crisis Center and area victims of sexual assault. SANEs offer victims prompt, compassionate care and comprehensive forensic evidence collection. In addition to helping preserve the victim’s dignity and reduce psychological trauma, SANE programs enhance evidence collection for more effective investigations and better prosecutions.

CVMC’s Emergency Department has four nurses who serve as SANEs. The Rape Crisis Center of Catawba County is a non-profit organization working to make positive impacts in the lives of those living in Catawba County by providing service to the victims of sexual assault and rape.
