On June 14, 2011, Catawba Valley Medical Center’s Center for Disease
Control was awarded continued recognition from the American Diabetes Association
for another four-year term. This designation recognizes CVMC’s Diabetes
Self-Management Education program as having met national standards for
education. According to the American Diabetes Association, “adherence
to National Standards has undoubtedly improved the education provided
to people with diabetes. We are confident that those you serve appreciate
your effort, commitment, and success in providing quality diabetes education.”
Two Registered Nurses, who are also Certified Diabetes Educators, staff
the Center for Diabetes Control. Providing ongoing support to the program
are CVMC Registered Dieticians and on-campus Wingate University Faculty
and Registered Pharmacists. The Center is located on the CVMC campus and
housed in the Pain Management Clinic. For more information or for questions
