HICKORY, NC – Catawba Valley Medical Center is pleased to announce
Matthew O’Neill, PT, DPT, OCS has earned board certification in
orthopedics from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS).
To attain certification, candidates must submit evidence of required clinical
practice, complete a minimum of 2,000 hours of direct patient care, and
pass a rigorous written examination, which demonstrates specialized knowledge
and advanced clinical skills in a specialized area of ​​physiotherapy practice.
After graduating from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science
in Exercise Science, O’Neil completed a doctor of physical therapy
at Elon University. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association
and is a Certified Clinical Instructor.
“We are very fortunate to have someone as driven as Matthew on our
team,” said Ava Jarrett, Administrator of Rehabilitation Services.
“He’s one of the few physical therapists in the region to
earn such a distinctive credential. It’s a testimony to his commitment
to his craft and to his patients.”
