HICKORY, NC – August 16, 2013 – Catawba Valley Medical Center
(CVMC) recognized Julie Brittain, Unit Secretary/Emergency Technician,
Emergency Department, as the August 2013 CARE Employee.
Following are remarks offered in nominating Julie: “[Julie] goes
far and beyond to make patients comfortable. She keeps herself busy by
checking patients’ vital signs as well as asking them if there is
anything we can do to make their wait more pleasant. She has excellent
people skills that she can relate easily to the patients and alleviate
their stress when they are not feeling well or even if they are disappointed
with the wait. She always has a smile and it makes it easy for the patients
as well as for me when things really get hectic in the ED.” Congratulations, Julie!
