Catawba Valley Medical Group (CVMG) announced today the addition of Cammy
Benton, MD, ABIHM to its experienced team of providers at Catawba Valley
Family Medicine – South Hickory. Dr. Benton will join Dr. Paul Sykes
and Family Nurse Practitioner Penny Matlock on May 4th at the practice
located on Startown Road.
After graduating Sigma Cum Laude at Eastern Carolina University (ECU),
Dr. Benton earned a Doctor of Medicine at ECU before completing her residency
at University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. An integrative medicine
advocate, she is currently pursuing certification in the practice of
Functional Medicine and is an active member of the American Holistic Medical Association.
In 2012, Dr. Benton traveled with Bless Back Worldwide Medical Mission
to Haiti and has regularly treated Hmong refugees in need of medical care
in Charlotte. She is a current member of the American Academy of Family
Physicians and enjoys caring for patients ranging in age from birth to seniors.
