From a Patient Letter…
“I wanted to thank you for the outstanding quality of care and brilliant
expertise that your team of doctors, nurses, and staff provided during
the birth of our daughter and care after her delivery. We did not have
a typical delivery as our daughter was born via gestational surrogate.
Your hospital embraced our unique situation and handled it with the utmost
professionalism.
During our surrogate’s labor and delivery, CVMC Nurses were exceptional!
The Nurse Anesthetist provided excellent care during the epidural procedure.
Given legalities surrounding birth certificates and surrogate deliveries
in the State of North Carolina, the hospital attorney worked diligently
with Vital Records in Raleigh so that my husband and I were recognized
as biological parents on the legal birth certificate.
Once born, our daughter was admitted to the Level-III NICU and had an eight-day
stay where she was closely monitored and cared for by neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, nurses, and staff who were second to none. They are not only incredible at their jobs, but they encouraged
us to bond and interact as much as one can around the cords and wires,
and truly made us feel as close to being at home as possible. Your NICU
nurses went out of their way to provide impeccable care for our daughter.
These nurses showed expertise in all areas of her care. Our family will
be forever grateful for your NICU’s heartfelt dedication to getting
our daughter well. Our stay was thankfully short and we were discharged
with a beautiful, healthy daughter. I will forever hold your hospital
close to my heart. As a citizen of Catawba County, I am thankful to have
this level of care in our community and I am proud that my family is able to have Catawba Valley Medical Center as our first choice in hospital
care.”
