HICKORY, NC – April 22, 2016 – Catawba Valley Medical Center (CVMC) announces the recent appointment
of Julie Stecher, to the position of Director CVMC Center for Wound Healing
and Hyperbarics. The center, located in Tate Medical Commons, is currently
under expansion while still scheduling patients. The expansion, scheduled
for completion in June, will include three additional treatment rooms,
three Sechrist hyperbaric chambers, a second waiting area, and renovated
changing areas.
“We are excited to have Julie join our multi-disciplinary team at
the wound care center,” said Ava Jarrett, CVMC Administrator, Rehabilitation
and Wellness. “This program continues to produce a high level of
successful patient outcomes in healing wounds. With advanced treatment
options including those in our hyperbaric oxygen chambers, we are seeing
faster and more effective healing solutions for problem wounds like those
associated with diabetes, cancer treatments or other medical conditions
that make wounds challenging to heal.”
Julie is a 15-year healthcare professional with experience educating surgeons
and primary care physicians on specialized treatment approaches and clinical
pathway guidelines proven effective in healing specific types of wounds.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University and
became a Certified Wound Care Market Specialist from the Wound Care Education
Institute.
The CVMC Wound Care Center employs a rigorous evidence-based approach to
explore, test, find and develop the clinically proven methods and technologies
that help people heal faster and more completely. These treatments include
hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure therapies, bioengineered
