After-Hours Physician
To speak with a Catawba Valley Medical Group provider afterhours, please call: 828.324.0258. This service provides direct access to the on-call provider, not a triage phone line, to increase access to care and is intended for medical questions or concerns. Please call 911 if you are experiencing a medical emergency.

Weekend After-Hours Care:
The convenience of extended office hours is provided by Catawba Valley Family Medicine - Maiden to all Catawba Valley Medical Group patients on Saturdays 9am – 1pm. Click here for more information.

Patient Portal:

Our Providers

Shital Patel, MD

Dr. Shital Patel, an internal medicine and pediatrics physician, is accepting new patients at Catawba Valley Family Care in downtown Newton, and is part of Catawba Valley Medical Group’s network of physicians. After receiving her medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Dr. Patel completed her Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at University of Texas Houston. She has been certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics, and is a member of the North Carolina Medical Society.
