Our providers Dr. Michael Burton, Dr. Robert Glenn, Dr. Scott Polster, Dr. Paige Parker, Dr. Trina Tridico, and Nurse Practitioner Lisa Patton, welcome you to their family medicine practice. All of our doctors are board certified with the American Board of Family Medicine. The top priority of our providers and staff is helping you and your loved ones prevent illness and maintain physical and emotional well-being by providing medical care and recommending healthy lifestyle choices. Our practice manages acute and chronic illnesses, treats acute injuries, performs minor office surgeries and, when necessary, refers you to an appropriate specialist. Just think of your family medicine provider as your first line of defense in guarding your most valuable possession of all: your health.

After-Hours Physician
To speak with a Catawba Valley Medical Group provider afterhours, please call: 828.324.0258. This service provides direct access to the on-call provider, not a triage phone line, to increase access to care and is intended for medical questions or concerns. Please call 911 if you are experiencing a medical emergency.

Weekend After-Hours Care:
The convenience of extended office hours is provided by Catawba Valley Family Medicine - Maiden to all Catawba Valley Medical Group patients on Saturdays 9am – 1pm. Click here for more information.

Patient Portal:

Michael Burton, MD

Prior to completing his residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Ft. Lewis, WA, Dr. Burton received his medical degree from Medical College of Virginia in 1990. In addition to being board certified in family medicine, Dr. Burton is also certified with the National Board of Medical Examiners. Before moving to Hickory to join the staff at the Medical Arts Clinic in 1997, Dr. Burton practiced medicine at Winn Army Community Hospital in Ft. Steward, GA where he served patients both as a family medicine doctor and a battalion surgeon for the 3/15 Infantry.

Robert Glenn, MD

Dr. Robert Glenn, a native of Greer, SC, obtained his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and obtained his Family Medicine residency training in Fort Worth, TX at John Peter Smith Hospital. He served in the US Air Force in Reserves and active duty for 3 years at Dyess Air Force Base during Desert Storm. He practiced an additional 2 years in rural Tennessee before relocating to Hickory in 1993 where he has served his patients for over 20 years and participated many years in clinical studies.

Paige Parker, DO

Originally from Morganton, NC, Dr. Paige Parker earned her medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA and completed a residency in Family Medicine at Virginia Tech Carilion in Roanoke, VA. A member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, she enjoys kayaking and collecting vintage comic books with her husband.

Scott Polster, MD

After obtaining his medical degree from Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Polster completed a residency in general surgery and urology at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. He has conducted more than 91 research trials as a principal investigator since 2005 in areas including, but not limited to, researching gout, oral contraception, alcohol dependency, vaccine trials, erectile dysfunction, COPD, obesity, arthritis, diabetes and bowel disorders.

Trina Tridico, MD

Dr. Trina Tridico is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC where she also completed an internship in general surgery and residency in family medicine. She has been published in numerous medical journals and participated in research, which has been presented to the American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons. She enjoys spending time with family, hiking, running, backpacking and reading.

Lisa Patton, FNP-C

Lisa M. Patton, FNP-C, received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lees McRae College in 2016 as a Summa Cum Laude graduate and is an alumni of the May School of Nursing Honor Society. Later she completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in family nurse practitioner at East Tennessee State University in 2021. She is certified by The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners National Certification Board and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She enjoys boating with family at the lake, traveling, and reading.
