Kristeen's Story

“I had been clinically obese for 12 years. I was diagnosed with multiple health issues like high cholesterol, diabetes, borderline high blood pressure, severe heartburn, and severe sleep apnea. These issues caused difficulty doing menial tasks like washing dishes and doing laundry. I was not the wife and mother I knew that I could be.

I had Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass at Catawba Valley Medical Center and had a wonderful experience. The doctors and nurses explained everything thoroughly and were friendly before and after surgery. I feel amazing and look forward to inspiring others to go after their dreams. No dream is too big; you’re worth it. My new motto is, “I can do more than I think I can.” You can too.
