What is Price Transparency?
Hospital Price Transparency is the term used to describe initiatives in
the healthcare industry to provide meaningful pricing information to consumers.
It provides an avenue for our patients to know the cost of an item or
service prior to receiving care. Beginning in January 2021, hospitals’
standard charges, including the rates they negotiate with insurance companies
and the discounted price a hospital is willing to accept directly from
a patient if paid in cash, must be publicly available and free of charge.

The information provided in the link below is a comprehensive list of services
that includes the hospital’s standard charges, discounted cash prices,
payer specific negotiated rates, and de-identified minimum and maximum
negotiated charges as required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services (CMS).
DISCLAIMER: The prices listed are hospital charges only with their corresponding self
pay price and do not include any physician fees or other non-hospital
facility charges.
I understand the charges do not reflect my actual out-of-pocket healthcare
costs determined by my health plan benefits including deductibles, co-insurance,
and out of pocket maximum amounts. I am aware that I should contact Catawba Valley Health System at (828)
326-3393 to speak with a Patient Financial Advocate to learn more about
how much I may potentially pay for a service.
