Employee Pharmacy Services

The Catawba Valley Medical Center Employee Pharmacy offers free Rx delivery service to Catawba Valley Medical Center off-site locations.

All CVMC Medical Plan Participants will have easier access to this great benefit.

Delivery Days

Delivery dates are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays during normal business hours. Please note the cut off times are by 2pm the day prior UNLESS your prescription is a drug that is special ordered for you and not kept in stock. This would be indicated by the a yellow label stating: "This item was specially ordered for you. Please contact us a day ahead to reorder".

CVMC Pharmacy Advantages

Employees can save between $10 to $35 per script each month by utilizing the Employee Pharmacy … that’s a savings of up to $420 per year for just one script
The employee co-pays for Traditional Medical Plan participants are $5/month supply for generics; $15/month supply for formulary; and $25/month supply for brand name. Please note that CDHP Medical Plan participants must meet their annual deductible BEFORE the prescription co-pays kick in
The Employee Pharmacy can fill up to a 3 month (90 day) supply saving you time and keeping your medications on-hand
Payroll deduction is available for payment of co-pays as well as the FSA Card & HSA Debit Card
FREE delivery twice a week if prescription is called in before cut-off time (Tuesdays & Thursdays)
Easy refill process via phone or Refill Rx app / website
FREE transfer of current prescriptions from other pharmacies

Pharmacy Counseling Access

Employees requesting medication counseling upon delivery will consult with a CVMC Pharmacist via a phone conversation.

Transferring Current Prescription to Employee Pharmacy

To transfer a prescription from another pharmacy to CVMC Employee Pharmacy, simply call 828.326.3310 to speak to an Employee Pharmacy staff member. They will contact the pharmacy on your behalf to transfer the prescription for you. Please note that this must be requested by the cut-off time in order to receive on the next scheduled delivery day (Tuesday or Thursday).

Prescription Refills

Call 828.326.3311 and leave your refill information on the Employee Pharmacy voicemail
Use the RefillRx app found in the Apple Store or Google Play (see below)
Refills received before 2pm on Monday will be delivered on Tuesday; refills received before 2pm on Wednesday will be delivered on Thursday
Please note that if your prescription bottle has a yellow label stating: "This item was specially ordered for you. Please contact us a day ahead to reorder".indicating that the drug is not in stock you’ll need to call in your refill before 2pm on Friday for Tuesday delivery and before 2pm on Tuesday for Thursday delivery

New Prescription from Provider

Please inform your provider to send your prescriptions to the CVMC Employee Pharmacy via electronic fax. The electronic fax number is 828.326.3407.

Refill Rx App or Website

Download the app in the Apple Store or Google Play OR go to www.refillrx.com
Click the Register button; enter 28602 for the Pharmacy 5-digit zip code and 3311 for the last 4 digits of the phone number; select CVMC Employee Pharmacy
Enter your patient information & include the prescription number
The system will authenticate your information and will complete the registration process
After registering, you can request refills via the app or by logging on at www.refillrx.com
Please note that you will not be able to register until you have your first prescription filled by the pharmacy
