Catawba Valley Medical Center Recognizes Top Volunteers at Spring Luncheon
With 11,000 hours to his credit, John Tregde (front row, far right) was
recognized recently as Catawba Valley Medical Center’s volunteer
with the greatest number of hours served as of June 30, 2009. Also recognized
for their hours served were (front row, l-r) Frank Webber at 10,000, Polly
Shook at 9,000 and Katie Fleming with 8,000. Celebrating the top volunteers
were CVMC board members (back row, l-r) Bob Hibbitts and Ron Lindler;
County Commissioner Lynn Lail; CVMC Vice President Guy Guarino; board
members Barbara Beatty and Raymond von Drehle and CVMC president &
CEO J. Anthony Rose. CVMC volunteers contributed about 27,200 hours to
the hospital for the year ending June 30, 2009, amounting to approximately
$548,000 in service to the medical center. Catawba Valley Medical Center
is a not-for-profit, public healthcare system providing and promoting
the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of the public
in addition to serving as a center for health education, wellness services,
preventative medicine and acute care. CVMC, three times recognized by
the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Magnet facility, was recently
named as a “Distinguished Hospital for An Outstanding InPatient
Experience” by J.D. Power and Associates as well as a Hospital of
Choice by the American Alliance of Healthcare Providers.
