HICKORY–Catawba Valley Medical Center recently announced its 2010
Medical Staff Officers and Department Chiefs, according to J. Anthony
Rose, president and CEO. “Catawba Valley Medical Center is very
fortunate that these physicians will be providing leadership for the hospital’s
medical staff of more than 350 physicians,” Mr. Rose stated. Charles
Scheil, MD, will serve as the 2010 Chief of Staff with James Harris, Jr.,
MD, as Vice Chief of Staff and Steven Williamson, MD, as Secretary.
The following physicians are serving this year as Department Chiefs: Lawson
Huggins, MD, Emergency Medicine; Alan Story, MD, Family Practice; Ismo
Kaariainen, MD, Medicine; Harold Dufour, Jr., MD, Ob-Gyn; Mark Atkins,
MD, Pathology; David Berry, MD, Pediatrics; W. Grant Harbison, MD, Psychiatry;
Knox Tate, MD, Radiology, and Kenneth Parish, MD, Surgery.
