HICKORY, NC – The Center for Rehabilitation at Catawba Valley Medical
is pleased to announce the appointment of Geoffrey Coates-Wynn, MD to
the position of Medical Director for Inpatient Rehabilitation. In his
new role, Dr. Coates-Wynn will address the needs of the acute rehab patients
and work with the Center’s comprehensive team of therapists toward
helping patients reach their highest level of function.
Dr. Coates-Wynn received both his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine
degrees from Wake Forest University, and completed his physical medicine
and rehabilitation residency at the Medical University of Ohio. He is
a Diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation,
and a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
“I’ve known CVMC to be a facility with an excellent reputation,”
Coates-Wynn noted, “and I look forward to building upon the collaborative
relationships with nurses and therapy staff to provide outstanding care
for our patients and their families who depend on us each day.”
The ten-bed facility, which has achieved a maximum three-year accreditation
from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF),
offers a full service comprehensive rehabilitation inpatient program.
Catawba Valley Medical Center also provides outpatient therapies, including
a cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program, as well as a fitness center
with aquatics and an outdoor fitness trail.
