Catawba Valley Medical Center Doctor Approved for Fellow Status in American
Psychiatric Association
HICKORY, NC—David Watterson Branyon, M.D. of Catawba Valley Psychiatric
Services, has been approved for Fellow status in the American Psychiatric
Association (APA). The honor reflects Dr. Branyon’s dedication to
the work of the APA and the psychiatric profession.
Dr. Branyon obtained his medical degree from the University of Alabama
and completed his general and child residencies at the Universities of
Kentucky and UNC-Chapel Hill. Dr. Branyon is board certified in Child/Adolescent
and General Adult psychiatry and is certified by the American Board of
Psychiatry and Neurology. He has practiced in the North Carolina public
mental health system for the past 14 years and provides services at CVMC’s
outpatient clinic.
Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, N.C., is a not-for-profit, public
